Stop New Offshore Drilling

The Department of the Interior announced in January 2018 a draft proposed 5 year lease program that would dramatically expand offshore drilling in U.S. waters.  The plan targets over 90% of all federal waters for new oil and gas lease sales including the Atlantic, Pacific, Artic, and Gulf of Mexico.

Ways to get involved:

1.  Submit Comments to BOEM:

As of January 8, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has opened a 60 day public comment period on the Draft Proposed Program.

2.  Contact Local Coastal Businesses:

Reach out to your local coastal businesses and ask them to sign-on to this Surfrider letter stating they oppose offshore drilling.

3.  Sign our Surfrider Letter:

This letter can be signed here by anyone opposed to offshore drilling.

4.  Lobby in Trenton:
