Please join us in our Wave of Action taking place this Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Gardner's Basin 800 North New Hampshire Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ! Our community cleanup will be starting at 12:00 noon and finishing around 3:00pm and we will be cleaning up the shoreline and surrounding neighborhood so please come dressed for the weather, bring work gloves if you have them and a rake might be handy to have too! We will have buckets, bags, reachers and some gloves, and we will provide snacks, water and hot chocolate so please bring your refillable mugs and water bottles! Please use this link For The Shore to register so we know you are joining us! As you approach Gardner's Basin look to the right for our tent and flag and we'll see you there!
We are also accepting donations for the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, they are in dire need of non-perishable foods, unwrapped toys, and new hats, gloves, socks and underwear!
"Waves of Action" is being hosted and run by Clean Ocean Action and there will be hundreds of volunteers coming together to help New York and New Jersey communities recover from Hurricane Sandy! Check out For The Shore to find an opportunity near you or to add a project! Events already posted include everything from community cleanups and dune restoration, to food and gift drives! This Wave of Action will be the first in an ongoing effort to identify and implement projects that are needed within our coastal communities so be sure to check the website for updates and future events!
