In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy we have worked hard to help our beloved Beach Communities with the task of cleaning up and now the holiday is fast approaching so we are taking a break from our cleanups! We will resume our efforts in January so please mark you calendar for our next Wave of Action on Saturday January 19, 2013! If you are interested in volunteering between now and then please check out these websites, there is still so much need in our communities further north!!!

You can help keep our Atlantic Ocean and the wonders therein beautiful and healthy! Please take a moment to sign this petition asking the Department of Interior to cancel plans for seismic exploration off the Atlantic coast.
Let our Federal decision makers know that dumping sand on our beaches without proper planning is not the way to protect our beach communities! Read about the proposed bill at our Coastal Blog and send a letter to your Congressman here!
And check it out: the "Reduce Plastic and Paper Bag Usage Act." advanced in the NJ State Legislature on Monday! The bill requires retailers to give customers 5 cents for each reusable bag they use and charge them 5 cents for each single use plastic bag they take. Proceeds would be dedicated to helping regenerated Barnegat Bay! How great would that be?!? We'll be sure to keep you updated
We are so grateful for your ongoing support and the time you have given us, we look forward to seeing you next year!
We wish you the happiest of Holidays and a Joyful New Year and we ask you to please cherish the moments and be grateful for your blessings!
with love and gratitude,
the Executive Committee and Core Volunteers of Surfrider Foundation's South Jersey Chapter!
