Stop the redevelopment request for the 163 acres of natural land behind Fitzgerald Dr in Kings Grant from Trask Land Company to make the proposed development multi-use.
A parcel of land in the Kings Grant area of Wilmington has a request by Trask Land Company to dramatically intensify the use of the land by rezoning it as mixed-use. This will lead to wildlife habitat loss, increased flooding, and reduced local storm water quality.
The 160+ acres of forest here are an important buffer to the area and this wetland is a direct tributary of the Cape Fear River. The developers acknowledged that this is the last stretch of undeveloped forest in New Hanover County.
