South Jersey - Longport, NJ Fee on Bags

The South Jersey Chapter has teamed up with other organizations like Sustainable Margate and the Ventnor Green Team to educate and eventually legislate on plastic bags in the three “Downbeach” towns on Absecon Island, Ventnor, Margate and Longport. The Chapter has worked with these groups and merchants as well to create signs reminding customers to bring their own reuseable bags, they have shown the film “Bag It” to elected leaders and other officials, and they have conducted cleanups involving all of these groups and more.
