The Downbeach Bag Campaign is hosting a showing of the award-winning documentary Bag It on Tuesday March 10th, from 6-8pm at Steve & Cookie's in Margate. Attendance is reserved for Ventnor, Margate, and Longport merchants so we can start a conversation about reducing litter in these communities.
In February, the Borough of Longport adopted a resolution encouraging their residents to use reusable shopping bags!
Longport's resolution is only the second we know of in New Jersey. Brigantine was the first to adopt a similar resolution in 2011. The Surfrider Foundation South Jersey Chapter is happy Longport has become involved with our Downbeach Bag Campaign and has taken this first step to encourage reusables.
