Port Ambrose LNG Final Battle Resumes!

Written by South Jersey | Oct 7, 2015 11:02:35 AM

After several months hiatus, the final Port Ambrose liquefied natural gas facility battle is set to begin again! This fall is our last chance to stop Port Ambrose and get Governor Christie & Governor Cuomo to veto this dangerous project. Port Ambrose is a proposed liquefied natural gas import facility located 28 miles off New Jersey and 18 miles off Long Island.

This project is bad for New Jersey, bad for the marine environment, and bad for the future of our planet.

Tens of thousands of public comments sent in, opposition from elected officials, and public scrutiny of Port Ambrose has helped to stop this project. We need your help for the final battle! For more information and to get involved in the LNG fight please contact Nicole at outreach@cleanoceanaction.org or call 732-872-0111

Tentative Schedule:

Final EIS for review to be posted to USCG Docket – 10/9/15

Notice of availability of hearings will be posted 10/16/15

Public hearings will be conducted during the week of November 2, 2015.

Within 45 days of the last public hearing - adjoining states can veto project.  New deadline for adjacent states to make determination/veto will most likely be the week of December 14, 2015.
